Infection prevention in wounds

Hi All,
I have a young bantam cochim pullet who escaped from the tractor. Unfortunataly she was severly picked on by a rooster before I realized she had escaped. She has torn skin on her head, we stitched her up. My concern is infection. What oral antibiotic do you recomend to prevent infection. Right now she's on duramycin in her water, I'm just not sure that will be enough.

I recommend neosporin ointment directly on the wound. I dont recommend duramycin. If you think a severe infection may occur, penicillin G procaine injections might be required.
