infection setting in? PIC

I think I would try the non-surgical option at this point. The goal is to get rid of the infection without damaging the already injured foot. Digging around and squeezing on an injury may cause more problems in the long run. I am just thinking that you don't want the infection getting forced into the bones. If that happens then the foot is as good as lost.
I have read that thread you gave me the link to about the non-surgical route. Problem is that I can't locate a local place that carries it, so I'm looking at probably a week before I could start the soaking treatments on her. How much worse will the infection be in another week?

The foot already looks improved over what it did look like. The body of a bird tends to compartmentalize an infection. I think you probably have more time, but probably not too much longer. That infection needs to be cleaned up.

Where are you? I ordered Tricide Neo (if that is what you are referring to) from https://www.pondrx.com/products/16165.html and had it in 2 working days. They shipped the day I ordered (I'm in Kansas and they are in Georgia). Good folks to work with . No one around here carried it either. Mix up tiny batches (maybe a quart at a time) using distilled water and it keeps several days to be used repeatedly

Yes, Sharol, I was talking about the tricide neo. I am in NH. If I order it tonight, it won't ship until Monday, I would get it Wednesday at best (2 working days). That leaves 4 more full days (possibly 5 or 6) of no treatment.

Should I just do the surgery or order and wait until it comes in?

Or should I see if Tractor Supply has an antibiotic at this point?

Standard antibiotics as I understand it are pretty useless for bumblefoot.

It has to be your call. The broken toe complicates it. If it gets red and hot that would indicate that it is getting worse. That might be a better answer than we can offer not having seen her in person.

Sharol is right about antibiotics being of limited benefit to bumblefoot. If the infection becomes systemic then it is of value, but until then antibiotics don't do much.

I think I will attempt another surgery tonight then I guess. I read on Ruth's post that night is better so you can put them right back in the coop when you are done. *BIG SIGH*

I really don't know what the best thing to do at this point is. Wait for the tricide neo and hope it isn't too late, or do the surgery and hope I don't make things worse with her break. Ugh!
