Infection??

I have a hen who lost a foot to frost bite. Is this redness up her leg infection or just bruising??

It is hard to tell. I would watch it. How is the other foot doing? It is a real challenge to care for one with 2 feet missing. Many people her have taken care of chickens who have lost one or both feet or many toes, so they can live and get around, perhaps with a little extra care. In very cold climates frostbite is very common. I would do some research about chickens with frostbitten feet or missing feet, and look at some of the Google articles about chickens who get artificial feet.
 
Oh my. Is the leg already amputated? poor thing. How is he now? how can he cope without one leg?
I'm not sure why I didn't get notified that you commented. I'm sorry! The foot fell off. I have been in contact with a number of people who have had happy, healthy chickens with one foot. :) She is doing well!

Thank you! The other foot is doing well. :) She gets around just fine, believe it or not!! I'll try to post a video. She seems happy!
 
Good to know that she is doing well. A video would be helpful. There are some articles about using an articficial leg or stump, even a 3 D printer leg. Here are a couple of bideos, one from my area:
