I just made a post about my sick hen; she's got a really bad bumblefoot infection and I'm worried it's already in her bloodstream. On the off-chance I can save her, I would need to address the swelling and scabbing on top of her foot by cutting it open to remove the infection. Only problem is there are only videos for the bottom of the foot, and I know there are tendons and such up there that are really delicate. Is there anyone with experience who may be able to do a video call and coach me through it?

I don't have a clue about that, but maybe you could get antibiotics?

Bumblefoot is usually not an emergency. Please pictures of the foot pads on the bottom. When I have had a swollen bump between the toes on top. I have disinfected it and lanced it with a scalpel or disinfected sharp knife or exact knife. Then squeeze it to see if there is liquid or stringy pus inside. The bandage it with Neosporin and gauze and wrap with vet wrap. Here is a video of a bandage for the foot:

Thank you! I can try that today. I have an appointment with the vet but am trying to avoid a huge cost for a chicken; my family is frustrated enough with the reduced eggs from the earlier mycoplasma. I'm concerned because of that background mycoplasma which I think may have caused a weakened immune system, leading to the staph getting into her bloodstream; she's lethargic, doesn't leave her perch, has trouble breathing and is losing feathers.

I'm unfortunately not at home right now, so I can't unwrap her foot from after the (bottom of the foot) surgery to take pictures (am rewrapping tonight if possible) but I was able to draw the bottom from before surgery, and the top as it looks right now. I don't know if these will be at all as helpful as actual pictures, but if you have any advice on the scabbing/bruise looking thing (I don't think I can lance it) I would be so grateful. I don't want to try to cut it out on my own in case I damage tendons.

Bottom of foot (I haven't seen any videos or photos showing how her foot swelled outwards in a sort of hump; it's long, not wide, and bends to the side when she walks. Her other foot's bumble was difficult to remove as it tilted sideways into the (more conventional) swelling.):

Thank you so much for all your help lately, it's been massively reassuring as I've been panicking about all these health issues at once 😓

Usually bumblefoot on the top of the foot is a pink bubble, and on the bottom of the pad there is a dark scab. This link has a picture of that at the top of the page:

If she has pointed dark scab that is black, I would wonder if it was something else, possibly a skin cancer or injury. That is what pictures are necessary.
