So my question is what types of meds can be used on chickens that does not result in tossing eggs?
meds for worms, lice, mites, antibiotics, ect.
Also, is there a list of things that should not be fed to chickens?

thanks for your help

If you go to your local vet, ask for worming powder that can be given orally.
Ask for mite powder, or you could use DE. I've never used DE (diatoms earth (sp?) but many have had successful reports.
Here in my country mites and ticks can be a big problem. So I think I would use the powder.
Reason: The powder is much cheaper than DE, and many others seen to prefer it.
You could use this BYC page to start your own Aid Box. This comes in handy often.

I suggest you get your vet to give your chooks their necessary vaccines, you don't have to if you don't want to, but thats my IMO.
Welcome to the Forum and have a good time.

sorry my question was kind of vague. But ive been reading on here about dusting the chickens for bugs, some use seven then they say you have to toss the eggs for a week after....

does the same apply for when you worm them, or give the vaccines. I wonder if I can pick up the vaccines at the local farm store, guess ill have to check. I normally do my own vaccines
for my other animals.

As for worming them, is it a powder that you mix with the water, or is it like horse wormer a paste.

As for a vet, well

....what more can i say. Vets around here dont care for chickens. its mostly large animal vets. Id be hard pressed to find a vet for chickens.

but around here chickens
are food. or they provide food, and if they cant do that, well then end up being food.

So with that said im pretty much on my own. so any help would be great.
