Question of the Day - Monday, August 11th, 2025

My brain has a hard time just being still, doing "nothing." I like to read, be here on BYC, play Sudoku or a word-search puzzle, or watch cooking shows. If I'm not driving, for example, I'm doing something like that. Well, lol, not watching tv of course. I'm "in the moment" if I'm cooking, I suppose.

No, I’m usually either in the past or the future. Being in the moment is something I need to work on.
This is me a lot of the time. There are times I can just let go of everything and "be," and I need to do more of that.

This is probably why road trips are so tiring for me. I'm constantly thinking of the next turn/merge, or the next rest stop, or getting there and getting unpacked, etc.

Live in the moment. Even as a child, and then I would want to draw those moments on paper with my Crayons. Makes me think that poets, artists, musicians, photographers... those that are driven to capture moments, are perhaps experts at living in the moment?
I can’t speak for every other photographer, but for me, taking photos of a moment tends to ruin it for me. I’m not enjoying it, I’m thinking about shutter speeds and whether to use the flash or not :p

Of course, when I look back on a picture I’ve taken, I can remember the moment, but it’s not the same. So sometimes I don’t take my camera places, or I leave my phone in the car so I’m not tempted to take photos.
