only my first day onsite and i have literally been sitting here..... ALL DAY :lau I can not believe the wealth of information on here and im excited as i been farming my whole life its mainly been more cows then anything else. Before my dad passed he enjoyed having chickens and the fresh eggs... ugh i love it endless supply of eggs who wouldnt want that cause ya can use eggs for EVERYTHING!! But i just wanted to chime in and say great job on this site and the sister sites to this because im also joining them too because im a homesteader and i want to further educate me and my family on homesteading.

So to all the creators and staff that run these wonderfull sites i say THANK YOU!!!!

Welcome! We are so glad to have you, and it won’t be long before you’re helping others!

Remember two things....if there was only one “right way” to raise chickens this entire web site and all the others you’ve joined could be read in half a day. Ask tons of questions, sort through the answers or search for what you’re looking for using the “search” feature, then select your course of action based what seems to be in your best interests. You are there, we are not....you know your situation, your area and setup and your own comfort zone far better than we do. It’s kinda like raising kids - we can teach them what our experiences have taught us and try to set good examples, but what they do with that information is their ultimate choice!

And second, when you run into a problem remember that the more information we have the better help we can offer. For example, saying “Help, my chicken is sick. What do I do?” doesn’t give us much to go on. We need symptoms, duration, how the rest of the flock is doing, environmental info about their surroundings and any changes, diet and routine, and photos are always doubly helpful.
