Hi all,
I have always wanted back yard chickens so here I am. I am allowed to keep up to 4 chickens in the city (I just checked the bylaws) and I want good layers. Sooo I am just starting to come up with coop designs for my smallish back yard, and learning as much as I can.
Love this web site! I am super excited, but totally clueless. Any advice you can offer would be AWESOME!!

you could start at the Learning Center and branch out from there. Check out threads on raising chicks, coops, and "where am I, where are you," where you'll find your state thread and can post there. It's good to make friends in your area and get more personalized advice because they know the climate, where the bargains are in feed, etc.
