Hi,

I'm Scott. I live in Florence, SC. My wife and I inherited 2 chickens from our daughter. She had 3 chickens in her back yard for the eggs. Our grandkids, especially our 2 year old granddaughter loved the chickens. They decided to move, and their new HOA didn't allow chickens, so we inherited the chickens. Unfortunately, the day before they were moving, their neighbor's dog, got into their yard, and killed one of the chickens. :(

We had just a chain link fence around the yard. One of the chickens soon realized that she could get over it. So she started laying her eggs under my grill. The other chicken would jump over the back fence and lay her eggs under some brush. They would do this even thought they had a perfectly good coop to use. We have now installed a 6 foot privacy fence, and they don't get out now.

I don't know what their breeds are. I'll have to post some pictures here one day to see if someone could tell me. Our brown/reddish chicken lays brown eggs, and our white chicken lays green eggs.

I found this website because I was searching about chickens eating bananas, and I thought it would be a cool site to join so I can ask questions.
