injured 1 week old poult

found a 1 week old poult in the shelter away from mom- limp and almost non responsive. It's neck is pretty flexible and it opens and closes its mouth with a faint peep. I have put it in a box with some bedding under a lamp and giving it water from a tiny syringe. It has some dirt on its back.I have a feeling it might have gotten stepped on and has a spinal injury? Any recommendations?
