Last night I noticed one of my barred rocks laying down with eyes closed when all of the other hens were coming to the feed. she got up, but limping and made it over to eat. Last night she made it into the coop, but she was the last one in the coup this morning when I opened up the outside door and she is still limping. she was able to fly up to the door, but that is where I left her. if she injured her hip, do they ever heal or will we have to cull her?

Could this be a disease? She was vaccinated as a day old chick for coccidiosis and also Marek's. I gave all of the chicks vitamins for leg boosting until about two weeks ago. Should I continue to give them the vitamins in the water?

I have one doing the same thing it's a RIR. Been about a week now. I keep her seperate so the others won't kill her. Hope she heals soon.

I had a BA pullet doing that last week. It appeared that the pad under one of the talons was swollen but after a couple of days it resolved.
