My dog. Again. This is literally the 3rd time in three weeks.

1) What type of bird, age
Booted Bantam, almost a year old
5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma.
broken skin on her wing (shoulder?) plucked feathers
6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation.
My 5mo Collie attacked her. Already killed 2 chickens
7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all.
No. I gave her sugar water but she didn't drink it. I'm guessing she's still in shock. The attack only happened 10 minutes ago
9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far?
I disinfected the wounds and took her inside
10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet?
A vet is an option if necessary
11) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.

My question is, will the wound heal by itself or does it require a vet?

Here's a thought ... Get rid of the dog, or keep it firmly away from your birds. There are 2 already dead... What would it take to keep the birds from being terrorized? Control the dog. Not being mean .. being honest and to the point.

I'd say, if you disinfected it, keep it clean and moist (like @MysteryChicken said), maybe try some kind of ointment- not sure if something like chlorohexidine or vetericyn would work. Keep her inside and away from the dog until she's healed. Therefore no flies will get into the wound, and she won't panic and hurt herself more.
