I have a hen that has an injured beak. I can't even describe it. Really gross. It has been this way for a few days (3-4) she acts fine. She is eating and drinking. I looked in her mouth and it is fine. It is the right side of her beak where it meets her head. Swollen. Bloody. We put blue kote on this evening where the blood clot is. I want to give her some antibiotics. Is there something I can get for her at tsc? Honestly she acts like nothing is there, but the large clot like thing and swelling makes me concerned about infection under the beak. I can't take a pic. Using a nook to get online (laptop broke)and you can't send pics thru it.
Just to add, I do have tetracycline hydrochloride

I don't have experience with broken beaks to give advice. An antibiotic may well prevent infection.  The tetracycline may help.  Gallimycin or penicillin might be other good choices if you can't get her seen by a vet. Here are a couple of good links about broken beaks:

Thank you for the info!
Good to know. It looks like it might be detached in the right side. The article explained about the bleeding.
