Injured button quail

I have a bunch of them, but I am a breeder, so that's a given

The price isn't bad. I sell a pair for $20-$25, hens alone for $15 each

Enjoy the little girl!

Really? I just assumed it was a bit high, considering the prices of everything else I've bought from that feed store have been much lower, for much bigger birds. I've seen buttons on craigslist for $5 each, so that's what I was going off of. Its good to know they aren't overcharging, then!

Well, she didn't make it. I have no clue what happened, honestly. She was fine about fifteen minutes ago, I left the room, came back and found her dead. I think the wound on her body was just too deep, I was worried that it was more than a surface wound.

I'm going to go back to the feed store later to pick up a (healthy) pair. I have no expectations, but I'll let them know this one didn't make it, and see what happens. Hopefully I can figure out which ones are males and which are female so I end up with a pair.

Oh, so sorry about that. It's hard to know sometimes what happened. Birds can be so fragile at times.

Aww.

I'm so sorry about that. I'll bet the feed store will make it up to you, especially if you're buying an extra one too. It's hard to lose them, even when we've only had them a little while.

I am so sorry that she died

The feedstore should be aware that she was more injured than they thought she was and that is neglect. I have raised well over 200 button quail and when one shows signs of injury (and they tend to hide it), that bird gets undivided attention asap.

Good Luck!!
