Injured chick foot

Hi everyone!

We recently got our first chicks, 11 Rhode Island Reds and 9 Plymouth Rocks. My husband was moving the chicken tractor today and one of the Red's got its little foot caught. I doesn't seem to have any broken bones but it has a nice gash and swelling. I think it's mostly tissue damage but I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions. She is not putting weight on it but can hop around on one leg when she wants to. We cleaned it and put some antibiotic ointment on it. She is eating and drinking but not as much as they usually do. Is there anything else we should be doing?

Just keep an eye on the foot and keep re-applying the ointment frequently. If any of her coop mates starts picking at her you may need to separate her until she heals.
