About 2 days ago one of my 2 month old chick got out. My dog got a hold of her before I could. She has some minor injuries. The worst ones are on her but & leg. She can barely walk & can not hold her head up. I have been cleaning her a couple times a day & putting neosporin on her. She is secluded in one of our bathrooms. I have been giving her water & food through a syringe. She flops around & it is very sad. I don't know if she will heal or if I should put her out of her misery. Her neck curls under her body. What can I do?

I Hate to say it but i would put her down if she is not walking. And if its been two days she is probably in a lot of pain. But You could just clean it out and hope for the best. Its up to you

The chick has wry neck from it's injuries (probably to the head or neck.) It may have some brain damage, but for wry neck the treatment includes giving vitamins plus selenium every day. Prednisone is also used. This chick may require a good deal of time feeding, watering, and medicating, and may not recover, so putting it down is an option. If you can devote the time, it may be worth trying to help it, but don't let it suffer if it is in pain. Here are a few links for you to read:

Thank you guys. I really hate to put her down but I don't want her to be in pain or suffer. I do have the time. I'm a stay at home mommy so time is not a problem. I do want to save her but not if she is going to suffer.
