Injured chicken needs help!!

One of my chickens was attacked by a dog and has a pretty deep wound as a result. I have been keeping the area clean and been using Vetericyn on the wound. She is in a dog crate indoors recovering. My problem is ants. I cannot keep ants away from her; even with the crate indoors. Is there anything I can put on her to repel the ants? Any suggestions are very much appreciated!

Hmmmm... Well first do you have a bowl of feed in her crate? If so, maybe removing it right after she eats could help reduce the ant problem.

No, only water in the crate with her.

Did she bring them inside or are they normally a problem. Or could they be mites or lice? Permethrin 10% spray or garden dust on her would prevent them.
