I had a chicken who was injured by a predator through the coop wires. It tore some features and skin off her, so I put some antibiotic on her wounds. When I first saw her after the injury, she was pretty active -- running around and everything. After treating her, she was active -- digging for worms with her flock (though not as quick as the others) and eating/drinking just fine.

But after a night, now she's barely moving. I checked her wounds and they seem to be self-mending pretty quick. She even laid an egg, pooped, pecked a bit at some rice in my hand, and sipped a bit of water I put on her beak. But otherwise, doesn't seem to care about anything. She moves a bit when I approach, and she'll look at her flock occasionally, but doesn't act like a chicken anymore. She just stands there for hours, and barely eats or drinks. Typically, she would be going around, digging up worms, and you know, doing chicken stuff, but not anymore.

Does this sound like anything to you, and any advice what I should do?

Possibly just shock from the attack. I have one that got attacked buy a dog too. Took her a little while but she's now back to her normal self. I'd still keep an eye on her just to make sure.

I hope you're right but she seemed pretty normal after the attack. Was digging for worms and eating alright. Not sure why the shock came later.

I also noticed that her poop has some lime green in it which from what I read is a bad sign -- either bacteria infection or not eating enough. I tried really hard to feed her today, even digging up live worms for her which she usually loves so much she'll steal them from her friends, but she just ignored them today. Really worried for my chicken who seems to be recovering well physically, but not mentally.

Can you post a pic of her and a good pic of the poop? @casportpony Can probably tell you if it is normal or not.

@casportpony Here's her stool from last night. The crumbles on the left are just food so you can ignore that.

I'm even more anxious now because she still hasn't been eating or drinking, except the 4-6 pieces of rice I manage to convince her to eat, and the water I get her to drink by putting it at the tip of her beak.

Also, her comb is drooping :(

Thanks so much for reading.

That poop doesn't look right. I'm not sure how to help, other than try to keep her hydrated with dripping water into her mouth frequently. Do you have any electrolytes you can put in the water? or Nutridrench? Maybe wet some of her food and offer that.

Doesn't look right at all to me. Keep her away from the other and keep a close eye on the others to make sure they do start acting funny. @casportpony

Sad news. I came back from work today and she was collapsed over, covered in flies. I swatted the flies off her, but she is basically completely limp. I tried everything (water, electrolytes, chicken reviver) but she just gets worse. I sprayed her with a mist of water and she perked her head up but then immediately collapsed again. I think she's not going to make it another hour. Preparing for the worse...
