Injured comb

One of my girls, Buffy, was standing under the roost and got some poop dropped smack on her head. The others pecked the poo, ripping her comb a bit. (This is what I think, I'm not 100% sure if that's what happened, but that's what it looks like.)
The poo was dried by the time I found it, so I cleaned it the best I could (hard to do!) and sprayed blu-kote on it.

Is there anything else I should do to make it easier on her? I put her back in the coop and I will keep an eye on her for the next few weeks as it heals.

It happens with chickens sometimes, whether she was startled and ran into something or a rooster grabbed her comb while mating and was very rough with her, it'll heal in time. Some of the points might die and fall off, but I bet she'll be fine soon. I wouldn't fuss with it too much, because it does need to scab over to heal.....Good job on cleaning her up and it's good to keep an eye on her like you mentioned!

Thank you. Yes, I figured things like this are pretty common with chickens. I was just hoping it wouldn't happen to me

you can't really do anything but, you can put vaseline on it.
