I have a 3 1/2 week old cornish hen that I found on it's side on Sunday- I turned it back upright, but it just lays there, reflexively stretching out it's wing every so often. It falls over when it tries to stand up- now it has quit trying to stand. When she stretches out her right wing- it just looks like spikes. She doesn't move her left wing at all. She is not eating much at all and I am holding the water dish to her beak for her to drink. She is currently isolated from the others so that they don't jostle her or step on her. She still seems the same after 3 days of this- will she get better or should we butcher her- she is pretty small- about 14 oz as compared to the others who are now weighing at about 2 1/2 lbs or more. Do you think think she could be in pain? I would NOT want that, but if she can improve and get better, I want that for her. Please advise- Thanks so much! Her legs both look ok to me, but I can't really tell.

Ok, this looks like the general consensus- Thanks to both of you that responded!
Looks like I know whta I'll be doing tonight.

CX are reasonably hardy birds as far as weather and such, but once one goes down, that is usually it.
