Hi everyone,

I’m new to joining and I love coming here to see others advice and experiences with their animals. I have a Peking duck her name is Percy. The day before yesterday some type of animal attacked her. Her bill is very damaged. I took her to the vet and he gave me antibiotics. She is most okay considering and is drinking more than the day it happened. She is having such a hard time eating and I was wondering is it possible to try to hand feed her like throgh a syringe? I also know this just happened so I can’t expect results right away. I have a bowl of soupy food hoping that she’ll try to eat and have been mixing food with her water so she’s getting something. I feel a little helpless and have never dealt with an injury to this extent.
Will she adjust to her bill being injured?

I was trying to give her a couple of days to maybe try on her own. I’m definitely going to call if I can get her to eat this weekend

Is she drinking? If she is not drinking you need to call the vet back today and discuss how you're going to keep her hydrated. They can go days without food, but will die very quickly if they aren't drinking water.

The vet that saw her should have weighed her, and I suggest you start weighing her daily to monitor for weight loss.

What type of antibiotics is she on and how are you giving them?

She is drinking a lot actually! I’ve put food in there as well so she’s getting something in her. I do plan on calling the vet tomorrow to see if they have any suggestions.
they gave me Lincomycin as a shot to give her daily for a week
