Injured duck help

I'm going to let the drake out of the monastery in the next day or so. I've read that he needs a companion. He's been separated from Sue since he mounted her. He was in the chicken run and she was just over the fence in the garden during the day. They could hear each other but had no contact. Have you any suggestions for a companion for him? Another drake or a hen? Eggs would be nice but I have chickens for those so a drake is okay. I just don't want any fights. They would be my only two ducks. Do age and breed matter? He's a Pekin, a little over a year old.

Thank you

Try to keep him away from your hens since he is most likely still hormonal. If you decide on females go for at least 3 or more so there will be less chance of over-mating and Large breed like Pekin or Saxony Appleyard etc. if you decide on a drake same large breed and this time of year you might find a drake easier since there are always people trying to rehome them. Introduce just like you had Little Sue and your drake so they meet and get to know each other through fencing first then after a time you decide that, let them be together with supervision while eating treats off the ground you'll know by how they act when they will be able to be together for good. Let me know what you find and decide .
