Hey!
I went into the pen this morning and found one of my duck hens sitting in the corner. When I walked closer she got up and hobbled away like one of her legs were injured. Then I noticed a scrape or something on her wing. Which is what's pictured.
Theres no way there was any predator in the pen. Would this be a breeding injury? I saw one of the other females picking at her wound, do females beat up on eachother?
I have 6 ducks. 2 males, 4 females. They are kept in the same large pen as a couple dozen-ish chickens, including 3 roosters. My 2 silkie roosters dont make a fuss of anything, my big rooster seemed to be hoarding off the others from bugging the my injured duck.
Any insight on how you think this happened and also what I can do to help would be greatly appreciated!
I have her separated in a big dog kennel right now.

I agree that you should bring her in to heal and maybe get a better look at her. A box for her and a nice female should be a fine place to sleep. Fresh veggies never hurt when trying to speed healing. Nutrition helps.

That's exactly what I did and she seems to be moving around alot better already! And the swelling on that spot has gone down too.
Thanks!

If the swelling is now gone it seems that she did have her feathers plucked by some roomies. I would usually blame it on the chickens being housed with the ducks but I would certainly not rule out your other ducks yet. Try to find out who the problem is and keep the housed in the same place with a make shift "look but no touch" fence around them. Only after she is completely healed though. This may or may not work by establishing dominance = timeout! I have a neighbor that has a baby monitor out to her mixed flock and when they're doing something wrong she presses a doorbell that is connected out to her coop. She trained her flock that the doorbell means STOP! Just some idea's so you have stuff to try other than permanently separating them! Try cleaning the wound one more time now that swelling is gone so it can close Add vitamin B complex to her food if you think she needs an extra boost in healing. Other than that, has her leg seemed ok? Any real issues with that or was she just feeling a little down and sore from being picked on? Warm soaks will also help her mood and aches. My ducky loves celery in the tub after a long day, I have found whatever floats works best in the tub for cleanup. (Celery floats, lettuce sinks etc.) Good luck!
