My call duck hatched 9 ducklings last week. This morning, one if them isn't keeping up at all. It keeps having to stop and rest. When it walks, it's whole body twists. I am concerned it will get taken by predators if I leave it out with mum and siblings. I have put it in a separate cage with one sibling to give it a rest and chance to eat and drink. Mum is obviously going mental.
Should I move them where she cannot see and hear them? Should I just leave duckling with the others? Help !

Go ahead and separate the injured duckling from the flock so it can rest and heal. Any idea what could have happened?
In his hospital pen you could put some Nutri Drench in his food or water to give him a little vitamin boost.

Unless they are bulling the weak one, I would pen them all up in a small area, and add vitamins to their waterer for a while until the baby is active. Keeping the duckling separated from his mother and siblings may cause a great deal of stress on the baby, just keep them cooped up for a while until the duckling is feeling good.

Thank you for replies. I am not sure if an actual injury has occured or if the duckling isn't developing properly. When I compare it to its siblings, it's smaller and the wings look very stubby. The male duck does peck at the ducklings occasionally, so maybe that might be the issue 🤷. Currently all huddled together sleeping. Think I will try and get them back into their night pen when they wake up.

That is a Minature Silver Appleyard, not a Call Duck, they sure are adorable!
