When we got home with our 3-week barred rock, we noticed that her left eye had discharge all around. It was still slightly open and blinking. That was yesterday morning, and nothing has really changed. She also had a small bald spot on the top of the left wing so I'm pretty sure she got pecked a few times in the brooder box. My guess is that's what happened to the eye. The wing has almost completely recovered already. Should we try to do anything for the eye?

These four chicks are our very first.

Thanks!

You need to remove her from the others. You might try putting antibiotic ointment AROUND her eye, not IN it. Make sure she has plenty of room to walk around, plenty of food, water, etc.. But she definitely needs to be removed. One of my chicks is going through the same thing, but on both eyes. Hang in there!

use terramycin,it can be put right into her eye.put it in twice a day and yes keep her seperated...
