My duck always walks on her tip-toes for some reason. She also lays down in the grass all day.. One of her toes is swollen and has a darker spot near her nail. I can get pictures tomorrow but i’m really worried about her:(

What do you mean by tip-toes? My ducks also sleep a lot during the day. They love a good rest. And please upload a picture. That would be of great help. ☺️
It’s hard to explain but she usually walks on the ends of her feet.

@Miss Lydia do you agree the inner toe looks thicker?

Yes, Pekins are growing quick and become heavy. and they are notorious for developing walking problems when the vitamin ratios are not well. Especially Niacin.

Based on the photo's I would say she has a problem with the inner toe though... can you make a picture of the underside of that toe? (yellow circle) and the position of the nail at the yellow arrow seems a little off. Although that can be caused by the position of your duck at that specific moment.

catch your duck. Make sure the head sticks trough your arm and body and you gently squeeze the body between your arm and body while resting at your underarm. ( so your duck is laying on your arm with her butt away from you) stretch the leg of your duck and ask someone else to take a picture... in my opinion that's the easiest way without giving the duck too much stress.
