Injured foot

So I let out my little guys into the living room/kitchen to explore and I noticed one pecking at this ones foot so then I realized it had blood, it's not bad and it stopped bleeding but they will still peck at it because it's red. If I keep it alone without it in my lap it just whines and whines. Should I let it heal? Or should I clean it off? (It might bleed again if I clean it)

It's best to isolate the one with the hurt foot away from the other birds for a couple days until it heals. I've had to do this before with mine a couple months ago. You can also put a little triple antibiotic on it to help it heal.

Otherwise the birds will continue to peck at it and it will continue to bleed.

So keep it separated even when I put it in a separate place and it'll whine? If I let it roam the living room it doesn't whine but if we put it in a large bin it'll whine (food and water included)

Yes, it will be fine. It whines because chickens like a place to roam around. May I ask why you're keeping them in the living room?

It's where we have their large cage at and we like to let them roam for more room since we can't let them outside yet and the blood dried up and is less noticeable so I put her back with the others and nothing happened so I think I may be ok to leave her there but I may check on it.

OK, I was curious.

You were right about how they like to peck at red things. Just keep an eye on them in case they decide to peck again. It may take a day or two for it to heal.

Alright good and yeah when I was doing research on chickens before I got them I found out about how they'll pick on injured ones in their flock
