Injured foot

I have a white Leghorn who got some twine wrapped around her foot. I found her sitting in the yard, and she was stuck, because the twine also got wrapped around a branch, so she was stuck there. When I retrieved her, I observed that the twine was stuck pretty tightly around her foot and embedded in the skin, so I had to cut the twine off. I've got her quarantined in a small cage right now, away from the rest of the flock. She's eating and drinking water, but not moving much apart from that, because I think the foot hurts. Any recommendations on how to take care of the wound?

Can you post some photos of the foot and of your hen?
Did you get all the twine unwrapped from the foot?

Since it's the foot, I would probably just wash both feet in a warm tub of epsom salts water. Dry well, then apply Vetericyn or triple antibiotic ointment to the wound. It would be good to see the wound - the foot may need to be wrapped or it may need to be left open to heal.

In her struggle to free herself she is probably exhausted and she may also be sore. I would let her rest for a while, if she's eating/drinking that's good.

Got a few pictures of her foot today. She is doing OK, but still not moving around much. I don't see any real break in the skin, but it seems like she can't really move her talons much, which will certainly make it hard for her to scratch the ground, as chickens do.

Wow. How long had the twine been wrapped around the foot?
Do you think you got all of it out?

It may have damaged some nerves, I don't know. You can try soaking her feet in epsom salts daily to see if that will help with the healing, then apply some triple antibiotic ointment to the scabs.
If you are keeping her in a dog crate, I would place that near the flock so they can see each other.
Can she walk around better now?
