One of my 8 hens (aka Chicken Breasts) thinks shes the boss and constantly picks on all the other hens, even our rooster. I noticed today that she was walking up to all the other hens and had all her neck feathers raised up and was slowly bowing her head. I don't know what this means. I got concerned and checked her neck and it seems that one or multiple hens put her in her place. She has scratch/ missing feathers on her neck. What does the bowing of the head mean? I hope shes not sick from the wound. Its not deep nor is it still bleeding.

Perhaps you're right, either the other girls told her they'd had enough...or one of the roosters was a little less than gentle while doing "the deed"...

Make sure she's not suffering from any bugs that might be making her "not herself." Watch to see that the others aren't ganging up on her and end up causing more injury too. Hope it's just as simple as getting knocked down a couple rungs on the whole pecking order ladder of chicken life.

P.S.
