injured hen gone missing, help!

Is there a possibility of her being broody? If they have access to cover, they can be extremely hard to find and they won't come out for dark, treats, etc... That would be a positive outcome....

I am so sorry you have a lost girl. I hope that she is ok and you find her soon. I went into our coop this morning and only counted 5 of our 6 babies and thought I had left our favorite outside last night. I almost had a heart attack I finally found her hiding in a box and actually had to sit down for about 5 minutes until I could calm down so I know what a horrible feeling it is to not know where one of your babies are.

I am hoping that your story turns out as good as mine did. We'll keep you and May in our thoughts tonight.

Update: It's been another whole day but still no sign of May.

And now dusk is falling once again...

I highly doubt she's broody, otherwise she would have been showing signs a little earlier on before wandering off on her own, which she wasn't.

Thanks anyways, everyone.

So sorry to hear this.
Once someone on BYC found their hen - luckily still alive - stuck between things (like maybe a woody shrub and a fence - I forget the exact things) and another time someone found their hen stuck upside down in one of their own buildings, alive still if I recall. The world - such a dangerous place sometimes...
Hoping that since there were no feathers around that she is intact and alive somewhere...but she'll need water.....
So awful - the not knowing

At this point, I'm guessing she's gone.

R.I.P May, you will be missed by Ivory, the hens, and all the baby chicks that hatched from you.

Oh and thanks for all the responses, everyone.
