I have an Americana hen that's about 1 year old and she was out with the other hens in my yard all day like usual. My husband noticed she was under the deck and wasn't moving, she had her wings spread and her head down so my husband poked her and she didn't move like she was stuck. My son crawled under the porch and got her and she is very alert and responsive but her legs won't move. She's laying on her side and cannot move she doesn't appear to be in any pain but I'm very worried about her. It's like she's paralyzed, can anyone help me figure out what may be wrong with her? Thank you

Take her to a vet IMMEDIATELY!!!

She could be shocked by a cat or startled or hurt by the other chickens.
There is something called a pecking order, its when hens peck the lower species. she could have been hurt badly.
I'd recommened taking her to a vet.

Hope my info helps.
Hope she gets well

could you post a picture of her ? we might be able to help better with a picture. what do her legs look like? are they in an un natural position? is a there any injury that you can see? a picture might help us help you better. best wishes

Any chance a dog could have gotten ahold of her? It doesn't sound good to me. I don't know what to suggest. I used to have a dog that would catch the chickens and then shake them. Once they stopped moving, he's leave them alone. Unfortunately they would be dead within a short time.

No dogs but maybe a neighbors cat or something. I actually brought her in last night and rested her on a blanket and now she is up and went out with the other hens today! She's walking not like she usually does but she is walking and she even got up to eat and drink!!! I will keep an eye on her though and if she doesn't start walking normal I will take her to the vet thank you for the help.
