I have a chick that hatched last Thursday(?), as far as I know, it didn’t hatch with the injury. There was a point where it got pinned between the feeder and the side of the brooder for who know how long. No more than a day, but I had gone to work in the morning and it was there, but was stuck when I got back around 8 in the evening. It happened it second day, and I haven’t been able to closely watch the newly hatched chicks for more than a couple minutes till today. It wasn’t moving much for the couple minutes a day I could check on them so I wasn’t positive there was something wrong till today. It’s leg seems to be off to the side (not as bad as splayed leg usually is, so I don’t think(?) it’s that). It only rests on the joint in it leg. Also seems that it doesn’t have much control on its outer toe. It might be a tendon or joint injury, cause I can’t feel anything wrong with the bones.
Idk, what do y’all think? I’m mentally exhausted from this years chick injuries😩

It may be an injury or a slipped tendon. Is the hock joint thicker and flat in the bad leg? Is it red or scabbed? Can you stretch the leg out behind the chick to check the tendon, to see if it is in place? Compare it to the other leg. There are many videos online on putting a slipped tendon back in place, but many times this is not successful. A chick sling might be good to place the chick in to rest the leg so that an injury could heal. Also, I would use some human super b complex tablets 1/4 tablet daily crushed into water and fed to the chick with a dropper for riboflavin or b2. Here is a link for chicken slings and has very good examples on the first 2 pages:

Here is a good price of the super b complex:

Yes, thicker. Not sure if flat. It doesn’t seem to be red or scabbed. Pictures below. Bad leg on the right

How can you tell if the tendon is out once the leg is pulled back?

I made a sock hammock👍
