In the Brooder
Stupid, idiot kids down the block terrified my flock of 6-week old chicks by setting off firecrackers on July 4th. The poor chicks were completely freaked out, climbing all over each other to try to escape the inescapable assault on their ears. The next morning one of them was limping when walking and holding one leg up when standing. She is able to place weight on it and hobble to eat and drink and even play with her sisters. She seems perfectly happy otherwise with no outward signs of damage - no bleeding, swelling, or obvious fractures. It has been a few days and it is hard to tell if there has been any improvement. I'm hoping it is just a sprain that will eventually heal on its own. But in the meantime I am looking for advice and reassurance; I am feeling so bad for the sweet young thing while I am plotting my revenge. Advice (not on the revenge - got that covered) greatly appreciated.
