Hi,
Two days ago I found my female quail with an injured eye.
I think the male might have pecked it but he hasn’t been very aggressive recently.
Any idea what I can do to help it and what else could have happened.
Any help appreciated

How many quail do you have in there? It looks awfully small.
Hi
The coop is not small. It is 150cm x 80cm. Including the top part, it is 12 square feet, plenty for the 8 quail I have. So the issue is not space if that is what you were going the say. They also have logs to climb on, grass to dig into, and acorns to roll around and peck at. image.jpg

That does sound like enough space. It's hard to tell how big a pen is from a picture, and I've seen smaller ones.

I'm guessing that she got something in her eye or got pecked. Is she doing better? If you've been keeping it clean, if it's just a small injury, it should be improving already.

If she got a bit beat up or poked it on something just leave it be and give her time to recover (alone if others peck on it but that can be stressful to the bird). If you notice pus or copious watering, apply a triple antibiotic or terramycin (without steroids) eye ointment 3 times daily for 5-7 days. Eyes either heal beautifully or become a disaster rather quickly so you can tell if she’s responding to treatment.
