My quail has injured his leg. He is a full grown Japanese Quail. This morning on the 25th of April 2021. I went outside to my quails run to see them. And I noticed the male was limping. At 15:00 I noticed that he wasn’t moving a lot and when he stood up he stood on one leg. He has also been limping a lot. And I don’t know if he has sprained his right foot or if it’s broken.

When mine broke his leg he was caught up on somthing so his break spot had blood, i knew it was more then a scrape when i tried to put pressure to stop the blood and it felt like somthing cracked or crackled/pop in place u can look for a swollen spot

How is he doing today? That foot does look a bit swollen. I would put him in a hospital pen for a while (make sure he's clean and warm) and see how he does. If a vet is an option, you might consider it since I can't tell if anything is broken. He might heal on his own.

I felt around the leg. It didn’t feel like a break. However there was inflammation on the upper part of his leg. I checked him for bumblefoot. As there was a piece of grit at the bottom of his foot. I held his right foot foot in some warm water and Epsom salt and the gunk fell off his foot. No cuts on the pads of his feet. I think he may have a sprain in his leg. But he isn’t moving it and doesn’t walk on it. :(

Is he eating and drinking? Does his poop look normal? If those things are good, he will likely recover. If he's not eating or drinking, there's a problem.
