What can I do for this? Rinsed it with water. Should I spray it with blue coat?

What are blood feathers?
Blood feathers are the feathers on a chicken that have not finished growing, thus they are still full of blood. Just beware, sometimes when pulled, blood feathers will leave scars in the skin, and cause the new ones to grow in twisted.

Not true....Twisted?....Never seen it.

Okay just to be clear if there are any feathers that are broken off so just the ends are left protruding from his skin I need to pull those out? But only if it appears blood is coming out of them?

Also does this look like something another chicken did to him? I looked all around the coop and I couldn't find any of his tail feathers. There was no blood anywhere. But this afternoon when he walked out of the coop his tail area was covered in blood. I thought maybe he got caught on something but I don't see anything where his tail feather we're stuck on anything. I do have a little Bantam rooster but I'm not sure if this is something he could have done. He's walking around fine and crowing and mating with the females. I got him some cottage cheese that he really seems to be enjoying. I tried separating out the Bantam and putting him in with a female's but they wouldn't leave his tail alone. So he gets to stay in the little apartment tonight. Unfortunately it's not that great which is why I was attempting to put him back in the coop.
