INJURED ROOSTER NEED HELP ON WHAT TO DO PLEASE

So I shouldn't dust him today. He's inside my house in the front bathroom. I have already gotten the mites I don't want my son to get them. I also have 3 dogs and a cat inside. Can they get them. I don't know what kind of mites they are. They only place around where I can get antibiotic's is Tractor Supply there are no vets around me that treat roosters and they all said they cant give me the antibiotics they have. So I also need to corn syrup and mix in his water?

I forgot to ask can the mites live on me? Or will they die in a couple of days? Idk if I should go to the Dr or not.

Since he isn't eating right the corn syrup or honey adds some calories to the water. I do not know if mites can live on humans or other mammals.

Hello people! I am from Greece and new in here and I need your help. Didn't want to start a new topic cause there are already plenty so I'm witing here. I also have an injured (perhaps dwarf) rooster bitten by stray dogs. Three days ago they killed 5 of my hens (didn't eat them though) and my rooster has the side under his left wing torn. No feathers on it, just flesh. No bleeding. He was in shock the first day, I caught him very easily I poured some water to wash the injured area and applied some Betadine. Yesterday and today he looks fine, he eats, drinks and walks around, he is quite active, I couldn't catch him at first. I applied again some betadine but I am not sure if I should apply any Neosporin ointment. Will the wound be infected even if I continue Betadin? There isn't any vet here so I don't have access to any more medicines except betadine and neosporin.
I feel sad for my animals, I also have ducks, dog and horses and felt helpless in the idea of not been able to protect them from those stray dogs in the area :(

Welcome to BYC. Neosporin would be very good to apply to the wound daily. I would not use the betadine anymore unless for some reason it gets very dirty. Leave the wound uncovered. If there are any puncture wounds, try to keep them open for a few days to drain, so that an abscess doesn't form. If you have an antibiotic to give him, it might be helpful to prevent a wound infection. If not, just watch it. After a week or so, you might want to let the wound dry and heal if there is no infection, but if it gets runny, reddened, or has pus, it will need cleaning again.

just wanted to say that my dwarf rooster is great he didn t get any infection and everything is ok :) i don't know if it was neosporin that actually helped but i am glad he survived
