My sweet Lucy (a big breasted white) hurt her leg jumping yesterday. She cannot put weight on it. There isn't a break as far as I can tell. The town I live in doesn't allow turkeys so I'm hesitant to bring her to a vet(if I could even find one that will see her). She ate a banana today and has been drinking normally. I currently have her in a dog crate with lots of cushioning. She can't put any weight on the leg but with support the leg and foot can touch the floor normally. I gave her some baby ibuprofen to ease her pain a bit but any and all advice is welcomed please help! I'm so worried about our sweet girl!!

one of my young turkeys injuried her leg, she couldn't put weight on it, and was dragging the leg with the toes curled under, not sure if it was leg or hip. I took the wait and see approach, she found herself a protective hidding spot in the hay barn and just stayed put . She was eating and drinking on her own was in good spirits. The other turkeys watching over her. End of 3 weeks she was trying to follow the other turkeys mainly just laying down and waiting after hobbling a bit still dragging her toes curled underneath. 4th week she still had her toes curled under but could put weight on her leg to follow the other turkeys and resting in place at her pace. Fully recoved, can't tell which turkey it was now. Not sure if she broke a bone or disloged the leg out of the hip. she stay'd on her feed and water so I didn't mind waiting to see how it would work out healing.

adding I did attemp to catch her the first day I saw it, but it put her into alot of stress attempting to get away and didnt want her to injur the leg more. Good news is the other turkeys would run to her distress calls so she was in good hands.
