INJURED vent due to pecking.

Other hens got her vent gushing. She hasn’t pooped either. Epsom bath? And then clean wound? Shouldi just wipe the wound?

Gently dab it with a wet cloth to clean as much blood as you can and try to see how big the actual wound is. Sometimes a chook gets an injury that bleeds like no tomorrow but isn't that big. If you're having trouble cleaning it or it is just small, you could give her a warm bath (that might help her poop, too). I might back off a little on the salt so it doesn't irritate her injury.

No poop can be concerning, but it could just be because her bum is sore. Is she eating and drinking? If so, give her some scrambled eggs with a sprinkle of oregano on top. My chicken got scalped and that combo seemed to keep her perky. Her vent doesn't look prolapsed in the picture, so most likely it's just some broken skin that should heal with time. You can treat with non-painkiller Neosporin or DMSO.

No salt got it! I am just worried the whole bath will stress her out too much but if it needs to be done of course I will do it. For now I have been wiping gently with warm cloths and spraying with the saline wound spray. She did eat last night and I made her more eggs, gave her some meal worms and she has been drinking like crazy. Not so much of an appetite today
