Help!

My bantam frizzles' wing has been injured!

One wing is kinked outwards when resting. At the 'elbow'.

It is not dragging on the ground.

There are no external wounds.

I can straighten it but it goes straight back into this position.

I can't feel any sharp points, grating or popping when straightening.

I have never had an injured chook like this and cannot identify the problem.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi @GoodOldDays :welcome

I don't think I've ever seen that before. Possibly the feathers are bent?
Let's see if @Eggcessive @casportpony @WVduckchick have any ideas.

If you have vet care, that would be best. You can also see if splinting/securing the wing to her side may help put it back in place. The following links have some good information, bird anatomy is all fairly the same, so you may find some info in these:

edited to add : She is a cute little thing:)

Can you post a picture of her standing? Or a video?

x2 natural pic or video may help

Does it seem to be hurting her? I've never seen anything like it. How old is she, when did you first notice it? Any probability of any kind of predator attack?

Thanks for the replys.

She is 2 years old.

I'm not sure if she got out and back into the coop somehow but if so it's possible my dog might have done something.

She's in a difficult to access pen now so i didnt get her out this afternoon but it seems to have gone back into place! I don' want to mess with it if it's sitting properly now but I will get her out again I'm a couple of days and inspect her.

It's so strange.
