My female swedish blue duck is holding her wing funny. I got her two weeks ago and noticed this then but thought it was due to stress. When she flaps her wings to stretch out, she doesnt let it fully out either. She doesnt hold it tight to her body and it starts dropping quickly after pulling it back up. Any ideas on what I can do? She is just starting to trust me but wont let me hold her still

How old is she? It’s def not angel wing. If she just growing out her flight feathers it could be weight from blood and she’ll adjust her wing often and once the muscles strengthen it will stay in place. Or it’s an injury and you need to examine. Or birth defect either way you will need to pick her up and examine her wing. She’ll get over your examination, but it’s really the only way to know unless you keep seeing her adjusting her wings.

She does adjust it more often then the male

Are they breeding she could have injured it with mating. Too old to be growing in those blood feathers. So I’d pick her up and really examine the wing gently pull it out in natural position unless she acts like it’s painful. Also if you can get a video of her just being natural hanging out so we can see what’s going on. You take the video then put it on you tube or Vimeo Then copy and paste it here.

I'll go out and catch her in the coop to examine her in a few minutes. I havent seen them breeding but when I got her she was in a pen of about 30 other ducks and a few other geese and other water fowl
