I have a hen that has an obvious injury to the pad of her foot. I thought it was bumble foot but she is totally non weight bearing on that leg. I removed the scab and cleaned and bandaged the wound. But Rosie still won’t put her foot down. She can move her toes and extend and retract the leg. I have her confined in a large unused nesting box with food and water. She’s bedded in straw and seems comfortable. I’m looking for ways to keep her entertained while she’s confined. She can see the rest of the flock and there is a watered is right by her so she has company. When the weather allows I’ll put her outside in the grass with a laundry basket over her to keep her contained. The weather will be awful for the next week at least.
