Very new to the game here! We brought home 3, 3 month old pullets a few days ago. One of the hens was acting strange from the beginning. She keep breathing heavily with her beak open, head up and eyes closed. Eventually we found her clinging to life. The same day, Our adult roo found

his way into the pullet pen and injured our young roo. Two days later he's not walking well and his eye looks terrible. Do you think it's related to injuries or is he sick like the hen that died? Here's the best pic I could get of his eye.

I'm sorry to hear about your pullet.

He could be extra weak from the sickness that the pullet had. However, it is likely he could have strained something or be suffering an infection from his fight as well. I would get him on antibiotics, to fight of the infection. If he has any wounds, wash them well and watch out for maggots or flies (fly strike). He should get better in time, if it is just an injury.

I hope he gets better soon. Best of luck!
