Female duck injured yesterday by drake. In the morning I let my girls out...Brea was going slow, head scrunched back into her shoulders bent over with her wings slightly trembling...throughout the day I checked on her and a few hours later back to normal behavior. Even later on I let my drakes out so I could do the water my drake the large one mated Brea and I saw her sideways on the ground turned a little on her side her right leg bent up along her belly and right wing extended out onto the ground bent at the elbow just a little. She flopped forward trying to get away from him as he came back for round two I'm running at him yelling no! I know somethings wrong. She can't get up. Using her left leg she pushed up into half standing, couldn't maintain balance I scooped her up quick and looked her over after some quite time in the house - no improvement. Boys put in coop and girls separated into side yard Brea was placed with her sisters overnight no improvement still only half hearted crawling by inches...is still eating drinking and she layed an egg. Is this a leg injury? Back? Hips? I know she's hurting but I gently touched around and can't tell if anything is broken..do I wait give it time? Do I separate her entirely from everyone? Do I put her down ? Should I wait and make a vet appointment? What's the pricing range on exotic vets ? I can't find any info any where!!!! Help please.
