Just noticed one of my SLWs has an injury above her oil gland. I don't know if she's been pecked or ran under a fence or what.
It's kind of scabbed over, but I brought her in and washed it off with soap and warm water, dabbing it dry. I didn't put anything on it, but I thought about Bacitracin. I decided not to because I thought the feathers might stick to it more. She also had some poop stuck in the feathers below her vent and I soaked that off as well. Vent itself is clean.

She is eating, laying and grooming, so I'm hoping it will just take care of itself. I've attached a picture and am hoping for advice or agreement :)
Thanks!

Update: Another hen being pecked in the same area.

Is this what "normal" pecking has wrought? It's almost like her tail is broken, now. What will protect these wounds but still allow us to eat the eggs?
