Hi, everyone. I have a 10 week old Cuckoo Marans that is skin and bones. She eats (I've seen it), but she is so thin I'm afraid I will see her dead any morning. I didn't notice how thin she way because I don't usually pick up my birds, but she was fluffed up, so I checked her out. Thoughts? I'm not sure what to do for her because she seems ok minus the extreme skinniness. Could it be:
1. Worms? Can a chick that age have worms? I have Ivomectin. Should I worm her?
2. Cocci? I thought about this, but I have not seen any bloody poop. I put her on Corid today and fed her scrambled egg, which she ate.
3. Mareks? I hope not... This is one of my greatest fears. Is anorexia while still eating a sign?
What do you all think? Also, at what point do I say, "I don't know what this is, but it's too risky for the rest of my flock so you have to be culled."? I'm kind of at that point almost now, but I hate not giving her every chance...

I have 2 Old English game hens. One is normal (well of course small.) and the other one is SKINNY. She has longer legs so I call her my Paris runway model. She eats at her own rate. ( by the way , she is the survivor on the Illinois thread.) You giving your hen those eggs should possibly fatten her a little. Look at us people. We are of different sizes and some skinny individuals just cant gain weight. JUST A THOUGHT.
Don't give up on your little hen if she seems healthy.

Thanks, Cavemanrich! I saw your post on the Illinois thread and it made my day!!! Love it when birds "come back from the dead"! I actually read the post to my DH, and it made us both happy. IDk what else to do for my Cuckoo. She is just a wisp. I'm feeding her eggs this whole week, giving her vitamins, and keeping her on Corrid. Time will tell...
