OK, chicken behavior question:
Two EE's who cannot be apart during the day. Cookie and "Cookies Shadow" if you will.
Both are first to the coop at night. Cookie goes to the same spot every night.
Cookies Shadow insists on going to the "prime" spot and creating havoc on the roosts when
the other chickens come in for the night.
Cookies Shadow is the lowest in the pecking order when not on the roosts.
Background: 16 chickens total. 14 came together, these two EE's came 6 weeks later.
Long story short, we integrated them slowly, Cookie was fine,
however "Cookies Shadow" has always run away thinking the other birds were
after her, which they did for a day or two, but not now.
Question: why doesn't she just go and roost with her best pal at night???
Thank you.
