is there a such thing as insest in chicken breeding?thanks in advance!

Technically yes, but it's called Line breeding. A lot of times people will breed mother to son/grandmother to grandson, Father to daughter/grandfather to granddaughter, etc. It's not as dangerous (genetically speaking) for them as it is for us.

so i'm guessing that it would be better to get a unrelated rooster to father the next generation or does it matter?

i want to incubate some eggs he fertilized and raise chicks and then cull the hens to how ever many chicks i raise for meat each year or every six months hope you know what i mean
