There are guys that DH works with who ask for eggs. I never ever just send eggs with DH, the guys have want them. So, I delivered eggs the other day after having been requested. The guy pays me then says "hold on now..." opens the carton and starts lifting the eggs out one by one, scrutinizing them and asking me "um, is that poop?" every time he sees a spot (a lot of my Wellies lay eggs with pigment spots)... DUDE, dont freakin ASK me to bring you eggs if you don't really want them! I give them to you for less than the grocery store, and they are washed, so just knock it off or you'll have egg on your face!

Thoughts? Am I being silly? It makes me mad!

Just tell him not to eat the shells.

Tell him its natural...your spotted chickens lay spotted eggs.

**Honest reply**

I have noticed the spots more on our brown eggs than the white eggs.
Why is that, or are the spots really there on white eggs and I just can't
see them?

One hen even lays a "bumpy" eggshell. Will the bumps hurt me? Taste okay.

Am I supposed to sand my eggs smooth before giving them away? Store eggs
appear to be polished somehow?

See...once again, I may not be the person you should ask for chicken advice.

I think most store eggs are coated with oil, and anything less than "perfect" shelled is sold for human consumption in another form, so whether he likes it or not he's probably eating those rejected shell eggs.

Guess some folks just don't think it through or could use some education on it. We're better off without certain customers, especially low paying ones that don't value what they're getting.

I check the eggs I get from the farm, but mostly for cracks. I don't complain about much else. I just don't want cracked eggs. I've had home farmed chicken eggs, so nothing bothers me much except cracked eggs.

I would have said,
"Why yes, yes it IS poop on that egg... but dont worry, i wont charge you extra for it. Next time i may have to though.... "

I wouldn't waste anger on it really. Some people are just so used to the sanitized appearance of store eggs that farm fresh eggs throw them off a little. I always inspect eggs for cracks, so I would check them too. The "is this poop" remark is a bit unnecessary, but I don't think it's worth getting angry about. He'll learn.

Tell him they are cleaner than the ones at the store. Then quietly walk away.

(But make sure to watch his expression!

But you can guarantee that they were raised in cleaner/better conditions than the ones he thinks are clean.
