I think if you start another thread, you will find that there are a lot of us rodent lovers out there. I had a wild wood rat (native species) as a pet and she was the most wonderful pet that I have ever had. Smart, clean, loving. yes, loving. Perhaps love is a trait that has to be developed, I do not know. The older I get the less I am sure of anymore, especially the stuff I was taught by anyone who was "sure."
I understand your point. When we stop thinking and wondering, and start taking other people's word on things, then we start to live on instinct alone too.
